The old world charm of antique furniture has always been around. It adds character and class to any space. Depending on what kind of atmosphere you want to set for your interiors, you can choose from a variety of vintage furniture. They could be anything from ancestral belongings, second-hand articles or even furniture that has a vintage style to it. Here are five pieces of furniture we’ve got our eyes on, and hope to get our hands on!
1. Cabinets and side tables
Adding a vintage piece such as this one, combines utility with aesthetics. Cabinets and drawers, if used every day, must be maintained and handled with care. These cabinets can be used anyway from decorating your entrance passage, serving as a corner piece in your hall or study, or as a side table in your bedroom. 2. Chairs and Loungers
You can style your home with furniture that has a vintage element to it. It just might be more economical than buying an original antique furniture. Wooden rocking chairs are a call back to older and slower times, when an afternoon siesta inevitably followed the slow rocking of the chair. You can place it in airy corner of your house to serve as your downtime space. Consider making balconies or outdoor spaces more aesthetic by having wicker or cane chairs. You can buy them here and here. (To attach below respective hyperlinks)
3. Décor and Hangings
Antique décor conveys the sensibilities of the person, because it has more to do with aesthetic and less with utility. You can go grand, rustic or maybe even tell a bit about yourself with collectibles. If you’re into music, an old Gramophone is just what you need to jazz up the room. Or maybe even put up a vintage poster of your favourite movie.
4. Dining and coffee tables
Your dining table occupies a significant room and so, should be give due thought before buying. Furniture and space are always in a tug of war, so make sure the vintage dining table you want is appropriate for the room. Thankfully, vintage tables aren’t necessarily heavy and you can find ones that leave room for movement.
5. Dressers and Almirah
Dressers and Almirah should be the ideal combination of form and function. You may go for with or without glass, depending on your sensibility and convenience. In a small space, Almirahs with glass may work better visually, so as to not make the space look cramped.
